QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned by smartphones and QR readers to instantly access information. Error Correction Levels Explained
QR codes include error correction data that allows them to be scanned even when partially damaged or obscured. Level L (Low) recovers up to 7% of damaged data — suitable for clean environments like digital screens. Level M (Medium) recovers up to 15% — good for most print applications. Level Q (Quartile) recovers up to 25% — ideal for small QR codes on busy backgrounds. Level H (High) recovers up to 30% — best for QR codes that may be scratched, dirty, or printed on curved surfaces. Higher error correction levels increase the QR code's complexity (more modules) but improve scan reliability in real-world conditions. Choose L or M for clean digital displays, Q or H for print materials that may experience wear.
